Gym Program

After being discharged from physical therapy, patients often times have difficulty finding a safe and non-threatening environment to work out in. At Precision, we offer a gym program to past patients, allowing our patients to work out in a safe and familiar environment. Your gym program will be tailored to fit your needs and abilities and is intended to be performed independently or with assistance from a caregiver/family member. The patient will have access to all of Precision’s innovative equipment and technology, while also having educated and knowledgeable clinicians around at all times.

Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Bike

Precision Rehabilitation proudly offers a Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) bike program. FES is a rehabilitation technique where electrical current is applied to an individual with a disability in order to enhance that person’s ability to function and live independently. The FES bike allows clients with spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, and/or generalized lower extremity weakness to pedal the bike while receiving varying levels of assistance to specific muscle groups from the electrical unit. The client will be trained to use the bike independently or with a caregiver/family member for one (1) hour blocks of time. We offer packages or individual training sessions.

Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training (BWSTT)

BWSTT is done in order to promote proper walking mechanics with patients who may not be able to support all of their body weight on their own. The harness will act to unload weight from the patient’s legs, allowing the physical therapist to focus on the mechanics of both legs during the gait cycle. This device allows clients of all functional levels walk with proper mechanics and upright posture while simultaneously facilitating coordinated lower extremity gait mechanics.
